Glyndebourne 2013: Hippolyte et Aricie Live Stream

Hippolyte et Aricie was Rameau's first work for the stage, written when he was nearly 50 and first performed in Paris in 1733. Glyndebourne 2013 new production - its first ever Rameau - is directed by Jonathan Kent, designed by Paul Brown and conducted by William Christie, "the greatest Rameau interpreter of our time".

We are streaming tonight's production live from Glyndebourne, from 6.15pm on Glyndebourne 2013: Hippolyte et Aricie Live Stream

When Rameau died in 1764, the Mercure de France concluded its epitaph to him with the words ‘Here lies the God of Harmony’. In many ways he defined 18th-century French music, publishing his widely influential Treaty on Harmony in 1722. He was known as the leading music theorist of his time and as the composer of numerous works for the keyboard before he made a thrilling late career shift and turned his hand to opera. Hippolyte et Aricie was Rameau’s first work for the stage, written when he was nearly 50. It is also Glyndebourne’s first opera by Rameau and will strike audiences, as it did in Paris in 1733, with its richness of invention. This production reunites the team who created such a dazzling entertainment with Purcell’s The Fairy Queen: conductor William Christie, a leading exponent of the Baroque repertoire, director Jonathan Kent and designer Paul Brown. They are joined by choreographer Ashley Page making his Glyndebourne debut. Dance is integral to this opera, acting as a counterpoint to the unfolding story of a woman who falls in love with her stepson, a man who jumps to the wrong conclusions and is pursued by fate, and the uncertain destiny of two young lovers.

Chelsea vs Indonesia Live Stream

Chelsea has handled its business in its first two games of an Asian tour, defeating Singha All-Stars and Malaysian XI by a total scored of 5-1. At the moment, the team turns its attention to the BNI Indonesia All-Stars. While the real result should be a foregone conclusion in Chelsea's favor, there will be plenty of reasons to watch the Blues in action.

Let's preview this preseason friendly Chelsea vs Indonesia Live Stream. Jose Mourinho will take charge of Chelsea vs Indonesia in the final match of the Asian leg of their pre-season tour, and the third since the 'Special One's' return to Stamford Bridge. The Blues' warm-up matches have gone well, kicking off with a 1-0 win over the Singha All-Stars before beating a Malaysia XI 4-1 last week. They take on the BNI Indonesia All-Stars with a chance to make it three out of three before jetting off to the States, and Sportsmail will have all the action live, including updates from our reporter in Jakarta, Matt Barlow.

Chelsea may only be in its preseason form, but Jose Mourinho's mind games are already in midseason form. In this week's edition of "Jose's Thoughts," the new (and old) Chelsea manager turned his focus to Manuel Pellegrini and Manchester City, saying the Citizens should be the Premier League favorites this season. Perhaps, the most interesting thing to watch this summer—and this season, for that matter—will be who wins the striker battle, with Romelu Lukaku, Demba Ba and Fernando Torres all available.

If Wayne Rooney doesn't make the switch to Chelsea as has been rumoured, as discussed recently by Dominic Fifield of The Guardian, the center-forward position will be out there for the taking. Lukaku scored 17 goals for West Brom last season and has plenty of motivation to have a big year for Chelsea, both trying to earn a starting gig with club and country, as Christian Benteke also plays for Belgium. He won't start for Blues in this game, as Ba will get the nod, but expect Lukaku to see the pitch at some point. He's already looked good during this preseason tour, with two goals and two assists in Chelsea's first two games. He very well could be Chelsea's answer at the forward position, a pretty big question for all of last season. Well, if that Rooney fellow doesn't make the switch to Stamford Bridge, that is.

Several of Chelsea's youngsters looking to solidify a more consistent role on the first team will be on display, including Victor Moses and Josh McEachran. As well, 17-year-old Bertrand Traore turned a few heads after scoring against Malaysian XI. It will be interesting to see if Frank Lampard will return from injury and play on Thursday, while all eyes will continue to rest on the team's top signing from this summer, forward Andre Schurrle. Can he earn one of the three forward spots behind the central striker? For that matter, can Kevin de Bruyne—who was sent home with an injury after the last game—or will Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Oscar remain the incumbents? The latter two players aren't on this tour, but they'll be hard to unseat. There are spots to be won for Chelsea this year, and playing well on this tour won't hurt anyone's chances. That's for sure.

Japan vs Australia Live Stream

Socceroos head coach Holger Osieck should re-structure his midfield if Australia is to have any sort of impact in their maiden East Asian Cup appearance. The Socceroos barely touched the ball throughout Saturday's 0-0 draw with hosts South Korea and only escaped with a point due to a phenomenal performance from goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic.

Galekovic made a string of impressive saves to keep a clean sheet in Seoul but Osieck will undoubtedly have
been disappointed in the failure of his midfielders, Mark Milligan, Dario Vidosic and Ruben Zadkovich, plus substitute Erik Paartalu, to gain any sort of ascendency against the South Koreans.

Osieck's decision to play Zadkovich for the entire 90 minutes was hard to fathom due to the Newcastle Jets captain's poor passing. On Saturday, Zadkovich regularly just thumped the ball long rather than trying to pick out a Socceroos teammate and Osieck has a number of options, who could replace the 27-year-old.

Matt McKay, one of the few experienced players in Australia's squad, could be shifted centrally after struggling to get involved as a left-winger versus South Korea, while Aaron Mooy deserves a chance after a strong campaign with A-League premiers Western Sydney Wanderers last season.

Osieck may also be tempted to play Archie Thompson as the central striker against Japan as the Melbourne Victory veteran seemed almost stranded on the right wing in the Socceroos East Asian Cup opener.
If Thompson does play down the middle and McKay is picked in central midfield, Mitch Nichols, Craig Goodwin, Adam Taggart and Connor Pain could all play a role out wide.

For Japan head coach Alberto Zaccheroni, the focus since Sunday's 3-3 draw with China will have been on his team's defence. Japan have conceded 12 times in their past four games and threw away a two-goal lead in the last 10 minutes against China.

Japan vs Australia Live Stream went behind early on Sunday through a penalty from Wang Yongpo and while goals from Yuzo Kurihara, Yoichiro Kakitani and Masato Kudo looked to have put Zaccheroni's team on track for victory, China hit back.

Wang scored another penalty and Sun Ke slotted the equaliser in the 87th minute to secure a point, which has kept the East Asian Cup all square heading into the second round of games.

If Japan vs Australia are as defensively frail on Thursday, Osieck and the Socceroos may fancy their chances of sneaking a win just as they threatened to in a World Cup qualifier at the start of last month.
